Warehouse 421_ Mina Zayed_ Abu Dhabi_
The exhibition design for ‘The Cup and the Saucer’ aims to create a dialogue between each of the exhibited pieces and the openness of the gallery space at Warehouse421. Looking closely at the artworks, we created multiple configurations of white neutral backdrops and pedestals the act as a family of hovering volumes - that in turn - emphasize the works themselves while creating a playful experience of discovery throughout the exhibition space. By only touching the floor with minimal legs, the scenography challenges the typical heavy partitions and pedestals of a typical exhibition and creates an elevated intervention with a quirky nature inspired from the artworks displayed.
